About the position

MRC Towers, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Tower Foreman to join our team in Shawnee, KS. As a Foreman, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing all construction activities on assigned projects. Your primary responsibility will be to interpret construction drawings and effectively communicate the necessary tasks to Tower Technicians and Top Hands, ensuring that each project is executed safely, efficiently, and profitably. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a crew of 2-4 Tower Technicians, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed and that the team performs at its best. You will serve as the primary contact for subcontractors on RF projects, collaborating closely with customers and site technicians to ensure seamless project execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tower construction, with a minimum of two years of foreman experience, and will be physically capable of climbing cell towers up to 400 feet. You will also need to be comfortable working in various outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold. Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all construction activities on assigned projects.
  • Interpret construction drawings and communicate tasks to Tower Technicians and Top Hands.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed on job sites.
  • Lead a crew of 2-4 Tower Technicians and manage their performance.
  • Serve as the primary contact for subcontractors on RF projects.
  • Collaborate with customers and site technicians to ensure project success.
  • Perform and train on Coax and Fiber routing/handling.
  • Install and modify sector mounts, T-Booms, platforms, and banding of monopoles.
  • Install, test, and troubleshoot RRU/BBU equipment on towers.
  • Complete site documentation including closeouts, JSA's, and test results.

Requirements

  • CPR Certification
  • Mid-level supervising experience
  • First Aid Certification
  • Rigging experience
  • Ability to climb cell towers up to 400ft
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to read site plans and understand the Scope of Work
  • Competent with test gear (Anritsu, ODM, and PIM)
  • Complete all necessary training (Comp Climber, OSHA, CPR, First Aid, etc.)

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with installation of antennas, RRH's, ground kits, RET systems
  • Knowledge of tower rigging techniques and capstan operations
  • Proficient in running required lines to the top of the tower and grounding coax lines
