About the position

The Tower Technician role at Parsons involves working as part of a team to assess and improve the communications and navigational aid tower infrastructure across the United States. This position is critical in ensuring the structural integrity and operational efficiency of tower systems, contributing to the Federal Aviation Administration's modernization efforts.

Responsibilities

• Traveling with a team of tower technicians
• Conducting structural condition assessments of tower systems, including foundation, structural steel members, and connection plates/bolts
• Adjusting tower guy cable tension and realigning towers as necessary
• Completing checklists and documenting condition using photographic evidence
• Meeting with local tower ownership, clients, and landowners
• Debriefing customers and management on findings
• Consulting with management and engineers to assist in recommended actions for tower condition improvement

Requirements

• A safe work history and mindset
• Current or recent tower climb and rescue credentials
• Comfort in climbing towers up to 400 feet in height (though generally less than 200 ft)
• Computer skills
• Communications skills (written and oral)
• 3 plus years' experience required
• High school diploma or GED required
