About the position

The Tower Technician role at Parsons involves working as part of a team to assess and improve the infrastructure of communications and navigational aid towers across the United States. This position requires travel and hands-on work in conducting structural assessments, adjusting tower systems, and collaborating with clients and management to enhance tower conditions.

Responsibilities

• Traveling with a team of tower technicians
• Conducting structural condition assessments of tower systems, including foundation, structural steel members, and connection plates/bolts
• Assessing appurtenances such as microwave dishes, communications antennas, cables, and junction boxes
• Adjusting tower guy cable tension and realigning towers as necessary
• Completing checklists and documenting conditions using photographic evidence
• Meeting with local tower ownership, clients, and landowners
• Debriefing customers and management on findings
• Consulting with management and engineers to assist in recommended actions for tower condition improvement

Requirements

• A safe work history and mindset
• Current or recent tower climb and rescue credentials
• Comfort in climbing towers up to 400 feet in height (generally less than 200 ft)
• Computer skills
• Communications skills (written and oral)
• 3 plus years' experience required
• High school diploma or GED required
