About the position

The Manager of Software Development and Engineering at Toyota Motor North America is responsible for leading an engineering team to develop advanced mobile and backend applications within the infotainment domain. This role involves guiding the development and operation of infrastructure, tools, and applications, while ensuring the maintenance and improvement of codebases and system architecture to address complex distributed system challenges.

Responsibilities

• Manage an engineering team of approximately 10 software professionals.
• Develop state-of-the-art mobile and backend applications and infrastructure.
• Guide the development and operation of infrastructure, tools, and applications within the infotainment domain.
• Oversee software application development including cloud DevOps model with AWS.
• Lead cloud infrastructure development using Terraform.
• Host external 3rd party applications.
• Maintain and improve codebases.
• Review and vet architecture and system design to solve complex distributed system problems with scale and security.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in software application development.
• At least 3 years of experience with cloud DevOps model with AWS.
• Experience in cloud infrastructure development using Terraform.
• Experience hosting external 3rd party applications.
• At least 2 years providing technical leadership in the infotainment domain.
