About the position

The Records Analyst II - III position at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is responsible for enhancing awareness and compliance with agency and statutory records management practices. This role involves assisting various programs in accessing historic documents through a digital repository, performing complex to advanced records management work, and ensuring compliance with agency protocols. The position also includes providing consultative services regarding the maintenance, management, and preservation of records, as well as developing best practices for records and information management.

Responsibilities

  • Increase awareness and compliance with agency and statutory records management practices.
  • Assist programs in accessing historic documents through a digital repository.
  • Perform complex to advanced records management work.
  • Ensure compliance with agency Records Management protocol and statutory requirements.
  • Provide consultative services regarding maintenance, management, and preservation of records.
  • Analyze and develop division-wide best practices for records and information management.
  • Utilize software to manage electronic records and a digital asset management system.
  • Supervise the work of others, if applicable.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
  • For Records Analyst II: Two years of experience in records management, museum or library science, or archival work.
  • For Records Analyst III: Three years of experience in records management, museum or library science, or archival work.
  • Experience with digitization of records and/or digital records storage systems and processes.
  • Possession of a valid State driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with a variety of records including architectural drawings and historical photographs.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in a related field.
