About the position

The Track and Cross Country Coach at Oklahoma Wesleyan University is responsible for recruiting student-athletes, managing the athletic program's operations, and promoting community support for the teams. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to the spiritual growth of student-athletes within a Christian university context.

Responsibilities

• Recruit student-athletes to meet designated quotas.
• Track and submit all statistical data related to the sport.
• Verify and pay travel expense reports.
• Schedule all games and practices for the program.
• Make travel accommodations for the team.
• Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes.
• Sponsor and promote activities to grow community support.
• Track scholarships on an annual basis.
• Support the spiritual growth of student-athletes.
• Operate the program within university guidelines and compliance with NCCAA/NAIA rules.

Requirements

• Experience in coaching track and cross country at a collegiate level.
• Strong organizational and management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of NCAA/NCCAA regulations.

• Experience in recruiting student-athletes.
• Familiarity with budget management and financial reporting.
