About the position

The Tractor Technician position at J.B. Hunt Transport involves performing intermediate-level maintenance, service, and repair of tractors and other equipment. Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting issues, completing fleet maintenance processes, and ensuring compliance with company specifications. The role may require working outdoors and across various shifts, including nights and weekends, with a focus on full-time attendance.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate-level maintenance and repairs on J.B. Hunt tractors and equipment.
• Troubleshoot tractor issues and work independently or seek assistance as needed.
• Complete work orders and ensure compliance with company and manufacturer's specifications.
• Assist in onboarding and mentoring new Tractor Technician trainees.
• Participate in Original Equipment Manufacturer training for repairs.
• Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with personnel and customers.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old with 1-2 years of experience in semi-tractor maintenance and repair or equivalent education and experience.
• A/C Certification is required.
• DOT certification in FHWA Inspections and Air Brakes is required.
• Basic tools are required and must be supplied by the employee.
