About the position
The Tractor Trailer Driver position at Delaware Valley Concrete involves local delivery of aggregate materials using a manual transmission truck. The role requires adherence to safety regulations and a commitment to customer service, with the opportunity for growth within the company.
Responsibilities
- Driving Bulk Trailers for material delivery.
- Pickup and delivery of aggregate material to stockpile sites.
- Pulling levers or turning crank handles to dump and switch trailers.
- Performing pre and post trip daily inspection reports.
- Inspecting truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and coolant.
- Keeping the truck clean inside and out as reasonably possible.
- Adhering to all DOT regulations and company safety rules.
- Driving safely to and from locations.
- Reading maps and using GPS for navigation.
- Using and wearing Personal Protective Equipment correctly.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL license and DOT physical card.
- Six to 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
- Pass pre-employment substance abuse test as a safety sensitive employee.
- Meet Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and medical requirements.
Nice-to-haves
