About the position

As a Tractor Trailer Driver at Capitol Building Supply, Inc. (CBSI), you will play a crucial role in the delivery of building materials across the Mid-Atlantic region. Your primary responsibility will be to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle, ensuring compliance with company policies as well as Federal and State regulations. You will be tasked with delivering freight undamaged while providing exceptional customer service. This position requires you to work collaboratively with your team to load and unload materials, ensuring that all deliveries are made in a timely and safe manner. In this role, you will inspect your truck and trailer for any defects to ensure safe operation before each delivery. You will load building materials onto flatbed or boom trucks and unload them at various commercial and residential job sites. It is essential to maintain accurate records for compliance with State and Federal regulations, and you must report any accidents involving yourself or company equipment. The job demands physical stamina, as you will be required to lift heavy building materials, sometimes exceeding 100 lbs. You will also need to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and maintain a professional attitude at all times. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), and a clear three-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR). A Class B license is the minimum requirement, while a Class A license is strongly preferred. You should possess a solid understanding of Department of Transportation regulations and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Responsibilities

  • Inspect truck/trailer for defects for safe operation.

  • Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment.
  • Lift heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. for load/unload.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional attitude.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
  • Minimum Class B License, Class A strongly preferred.
  • Clear three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.
