About the position

The Trade Marketing Associate Manager - Key Accounts at Deckers Brands plays a pivotal role in executing retail marketing strategies aimed at enhancing brand affinity, customer engagement, and demand for key accounts, specifically for the Teva and Ahnu brands. This position is integral to the Emerging Brands mission, which focuses on incubating and scaling high-potential brands through strategic insights and innovative go-to-market processes. The role requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in retail marketing and key account management, who can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams including key account managers, sales, brand marketing, and brand operations. In this role, the Associate Manager will develop and lead marketing strategies that align the goals of both Teva and Ahnu with those of key accounts. This includes acting as the primary contact for key account custom marketing programs, which encompass digital, social, in-store, and experiential marketing initiatives. The Associate Manager will also be responsible for delivering account insights and performance metrics to stakeholders, optimizing marketing plans based on these insights, and managing budgets related to visual merchandising, point of purchase, and promotions. Additionally, the role involves fostering relationships with key accounts through participation in trade shows and retailer meetings, contributing to presentations, and planning marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess excellent project management skills, a customer-centric mindset, and a strong understanding of retail business strategies and the competitive landscape. This position is remote, with a preference for candidates located on the West Coast, and requires a commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead marketing strategy for key accounts that balance Teva and Ahnu goals with the goals of the account.
  • Act as the primary touchpoint for key account custom marketing programs, including digital, social, in-store, and experiential initiatives.
  • Deliver account insights and performance metrics to key stakeholders to calibrate progress and optimize marketing plans.
  • Make recommendations for optimizations and improvements to current and long-term marketing plans.
  • Partner with Sales and Sr Manager, US Trade and Field Marketing to manage and maintain VSM, POP, and Promo budgets.
  • Own day-to-day tracking, forecasting, and invoicing for key accounts.
  • Grow relationships with key accounts by attending relevant trade shows and retailer meetings.
  • Contribute to presentations and planning for key accounts.
  • Own the briefing of creative needs for account-specific retail marketing plans.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of marketing experience, preferably client-facing in the footwear or outdoor industry.
  • Strong understanding of retail business, implementation, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record in process and project management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Digital, ecommerce, CRM, or other data-driven marketing experience preferred.
  • Experience creating go-to-market strategies and managing/interfacing with clients.
