About the position

The Trade Operations Analyst II position is a hybrid role based in Orlando, FL, reporting directly to the Director of Trade Operations. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with export control laws and regulations, as well as managing the company-wide restricted parties screening process. The analyst will be responsible for reviewing international orders and associated documents to ensure they meet the necessary standards for completeness and compliance. This includes applying for and managing export control authorizations under the guidance of the Director of Trade Operations. The position requires a strong understanding of U.S. export regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations. In this role, the analyst will conduct thorough reviews of restricted party screening results, identifying false positives and managing the status of denied parties within the company's ERP system. They will also be tasked with reviewing open quotes and orders for denied parties, alerting the Director of Trade Operations and the Vice President of Trade as necessary. The analyst will review international quotes and orders for compliance, approve orders, and draft necessary export authorization control plans and license applications for review. Additionally, they will be involved in reviewing import and customs-related transactions and ensuring timely entry of new orders and project changes into the computerized order/project entry system. The role may also include other duties as assigned by the Director of Trade Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Review Restricted Party Screening results
  • Review hits for false positives, documents, and releases
  • Review matches and deny them
  • Manage denied parties' status in ERP or other system per work instructions
  • Review open quotes/orders for Denied parties and alert Dir of Trade Operations and VP of Trade
  • Review international quotes/orders for completeness and compliance in accordance with work instructions provided by Trade organization
  • Review and approval of orders including supporting documentation
  • Promote quotes/orders requiring input from Director of Trade Operations
  • Action to release orders applicable per work instruction
  • Draft Export Authorization Control Plans for review by the Director of Trade Operations
  • Draft EAR, ITAR license applications and Canadian permit requests for review by the Director of Trade Operations
  • Review and recommend exemption/exception requests and usage to Director of Trade Operations
  • Review import/customs related transactions
  • Review shipping requests
  • Ensure timely entry of all new orders/projects and contract changes into the computerized order/project entry system
  • Perform any other duties/tasks as assigned by Director of Trade Operations

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to work onsite a minimum of two (2) days per week (days selected by Supervisor)
  • Must be flexible to work overtime to meet customer and manufacturing schedules including weekends and or holidays as needed
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance at the appropriate level which requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Travel as required

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with pre-shipping inspection process(s) (SGS, BIVAC, Cotecna, Intertek) and specialized country inspection requirements
