About the position

The Trading Operations Sr. Support Specialist at MFS plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of trading operations. This position involves collaborating with various teams to manage trade matching, handle inquiries from brokers, and prepare reporting packages to identify and mitigate risks. The specialist will utilize their industry knowledge to enhance processes and support the trading desk effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform trade date matching of equity, fixed income, and derivative trades utilizing CTM, Heliograph, and other industry applications.
  • Manage matching of MFS trade details with counterparties on trade date, working with various US and Non-US brokers.
  • Handle inquiries into the trading desk from sell side broker operations and sales offices, MFS Operations, and MFS Compliance.
  • Ensure data integrity within the trading/investment systems.
  • Drive the preparation and review of Director of Trading reporting and other risk mitigation reporting packages.
  • Collaborate with departments/teams across the firm to assist with and drive process improvements.
  • Represent the Global Trade Solutions team on investment technology and investment operations project teams.
  • Monitor a variety of system checks to ensure data accuracy within the Trading and accounting systems throughout the trade lifecycle.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the investment strategies and trading patterns for designated investment and trading teams.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5+ years financial services experience.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Personal initiative/problem solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to cover off-hour shifts when needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1-2 years in a trading type environment preferred.
  • Specific investment management front office knowledge preferred.
  • Familiarity with municipal instruments and derivatives preferred.
  • Knowledge of Charles River Trading Systems or similar trading platform functionality preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronic trade date matching using CTM or similar industry trade matching platform preferred.
  • Familiarity with Tableau and/or other data visualization software a plus.
  • Familiarity with Python and/or other coding application software a plus.
