About the position

The Trade Operations Specialist (Export/Import) role is designed for a motivated individual who will manage export and import operations, primarily communicating with Japanese clients. This position requires proficiency in English, with Japanese language skills being a beneficial asset. The role offers a flexible work arrangement, including the option for full remote work after an initial onboarding period.

Responsibilities

• Handle the full cycle of sea freight export and import documentation.
• Ensure compliance with trade regulations and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with Japanese clients, primarily in English.
• Prepare and present detailed shipping and logistics quotations to clients.
• Work closely with expatriates and local team members to ensure seamless operations.
• Coordinate with headquarters in Japan for operational alignment.
• Report directly to Mr. Shibayama and provide regular updates on key projects and client accounts.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in trade operations or a related field.
• Knowledge of export/import procedures, particularly sea freight operations.
• Proficiency in English; Japanese language skills are a plus but not required.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Proficiency in handling quotations and pricing documentation.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
