The Trade Operations Specialist II plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with export control laws and regulations within the organization. Reporting directly to the Director of Trade Operations, this position is responsible for managing the company-wide restricted parties screening process. The specialist will review international orders and associated documents to ensure they meet the necessary standards for completeness and compliance. This includes applying for and managing export control authorizations, all while adhering to established procedures and guidelines. In this hybrid role, the Trade Operations Specialist will engage in various responsibilities, including reviewing restricted party screening results, identifying false positives, and managing the status of denied parties within the ERP system. The specialist will also be tasked with reviewing open quotes and orders for denied parties, alerting the Director of Trade Operations and the VP of Trade when necessary. Additionally, the role involves reviewing international quotes and orders for compliance, drafting export authorization control plans, and preparing EAR, ITAR license applications, and Canadian permit requests for review. The position requires a strong understanding of U.S. export regulations, including EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and CBP, as well as familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and other federal regulations. The specialist must possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. The role also demands flexibility, as the specialist may need to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, to meet customer and manufacturing schedules.
