About the position

The Trade Show and Events Manager will report directly to the Senior Manager of Marketing & Communications and will play a pivotal role in the strategic development and execution of CooperVision's annual trade shows and associated industry events. This position is crucial for enhancing the company's visibility and engagement within the industry. The manager will be responsible for overseeing the execution of approximately 200 shows and events, which includes both national and regional trade shows. This role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with the Trade Show & Events Coordinator and various internal stakeholders to ensure that the events align with the company's brand strategies and key objectives. The successful candidate will need to develop a comprehensive trade show and events strategy, which involves selecting the appropriate events for participation. This strategy will be informed by input from various departments and will focus on maximizing the company's reach and exposure within the industry. The ability to distill complex information into actionable plans is essential, as is the capacity to manage multiple events simultaneously. In addition to strategic planning, the Trade Show and Events Manager will coordinate with cross-functional teams, industry associations, and external partners to ensure seamless event execution. This includes overseeing all logistics related to trade shows and events, managing third-party vendors, coordinating the trade show sales team, and maintaining oversight of the event budget. The role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the annual trade show and events strategy for CooperVision.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to select events that align with brand strategies and objectives.
  • Manage the execution of approximately 200 shows and events, including national and regional trade shows.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure successful event execution.
  • Oversee all logistics related to trade shows and events, including vendor management and budget oversight.
  • Work closely with the Trade Show & Events Coordinator to increase reach and exposure across state and regional associations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing trade shows and events, preferably in a marketing or communications role.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Experience in budget management and vendor coordination.
  • Ability to develop strategic plans and execute them effectively.
