About the position

The Visit Orlando Trade Show & Events team is responsible for creating, managing, and executing over 150 internal and external events each year. These events range from HR events and board meetings to Familiarization trips, sales missions, and three signature Visit Orlando Member Luncheons, which attract over 900 attendees. The Trade Shows & Events Intern will play a vital role in supporting the team with the planning and coordination of these trade shows and events. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the planning and execution of both national and global events, providing a comprehensive learning experience in the events industry. As an intern, you will assist in the preparation of presentations and conduct research on potential themes, concepts, venues, and vendors for various events. You will also be responsible for updating the department's event calendar and assisting with additional administrative duties as needed. The internship will provide exposure to Cvent event creation and management, and you may have the chance to assist in the coordination and execution of signature events, depending on availability. Additionally, you will attend networking events and participate in department and client meetings, working closely with other company departments to ensure the success of each event. This position requires adaptability, as you will work in an ever-changing atmosphere where each day presents new projects and learning experiences. You will be expected to submit weekly project reports to your supervisor and perform other tasks as assigned, making this a dynamic and engaging internship opportunity.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
