About the position

The Trade Specialist IV position at Spartanburg Community College is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of campus buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role includes locksmith duties, furniture and equipment moves, and minor construction projects, ensuring that all facilities are well-maintained and operational.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Perform locksmith duties including re-keying and repairs on doors, locks, and associated hardware.
• Coordinate and complete furniture and equipment moves on or off campus.
• Maintain golf carts, tractors, and related equipment, performing repairs as needed.
• Assist with minor construction and remodeling projects, including wall and ceiling construction and cabinet installation.
• Maintain Campus Operations storage bays, ensuring supplies are organized and accessible.
• Assist other technicians with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical maintenance tasks.
• Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma and trade experience directly related to the area of employment.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate degree and 2 years directly related work experience.
• Formal locksmith training.
