About the position

The Java Developer/Engineer position is part of the Compliance, Surveillance & Supervision Product Technology team at TD. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and integrating technology solutions that meet regulatory, compliance, and internal audit obligations. The developer will work on building robust data pipelines and analytics engines, ensuring high-quality code and best practices are maintained throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement technology solutions for Compliance, Surveillance & Supervision.
  • Integrate upstream systems with core products.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and analytics engines.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal audit standards.
  • Participate in capacity planning and design activities.
  • Contribute to the future strategy and technology direction of the platform.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in senior software engineering roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Java and some Python.
  • Experience with application architecture, design, deployment, and testing.
  • Familiarity with real-time event-driven systems and application integration.
  • Proficient in databases and application monitoring.

Nice-to-haves

  • Business knowledge in Capital Markets, Compliance (AML, Trade Surveillance).
  • Experience with messaging systems (e.g., Solace, Kafka).
  • Understanding of data storage, ETL, and data engineering.
  • Experience with NICE Actimize or other AML surveillance solutions.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools and Agile methodology.
