Trademark Prosecution Paralegal

About the position

Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP is seeking a Trademark Prosecution Paralegal to join their Intellectual Property Department. This role involves providing high-level service to clients while managing trademark portfolios and assisting with various trademark-related tasks. The position offers a flexible, partially remote schedule and emphasizes teamwork and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Review docket for deadlines and understand necessary actions for each file.
• Conduct electronic recordation of assignment documents and prepare client status reports.
• Manage large global trademark portfolios and comprehend chain of title in U.S. trademarks.
• Assist with trademark clearance projects, including U.S. and international searches.
• Prepare and file U.S. trademark applications and manage post-registration maintenance.
• Coordinate with foreign counsel on international trademark matters and oversee invoice processing.
• Effect portfolio transfers and manage multi-client portfolios.
• Prepare and file powers of attorney and letters of instruction.
• Assist in trademark filing strategy discussions and due diligence.
• Prepare and file responses to Office Actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 5 years of Trademark work experience in a professional environment.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. trademark rules and procedures.
• Proficient with electronic research tools and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Highly effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
