About the position

The Traffic Engineer - Project Manager at Fleis & VandenBrink is responsible for providing expertise in traffic analysis and project management for various public and private development projects. This role emphasizes client interaction, technical leadership, and mentoring staff while ensuring project goals are met in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in traffic analysis for both public and private development projects.
• Provide project management support for traffic/transportation design and traffic operations projects.
• Facilitate and present at public meetings.
• Interact confidently with clients and the public through various communication channels.
• Lead efforts related to traffic analysis studies with a strong technical background.
• Develop new work opportunities, including preparing proposals and developing project scope and budgets.
• Manage project tasks including scope, schedule, budgets, QAQC, staffing, and workloads.
• Mentor and coach staff in developing traffic and transportation engineering skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required, MS Preferred.
• 8+ years of related experience required.
• IN and MI PE License required, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, organization, and multi-tasking skills.
• Excellent technical, written, and oral communication skills and familiarity with industry practices and regulations.
• Strong working knowledge of Synchro/Sim Traffic required.
• Familiarity or working knowledge of Rodel, AutoCAD or MicroStation, PTV Vissim, PTV Vistro, HCS a plus.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Familiarity with traffic engineering software such as Rodel, AutoCAD, MicroStation, PTV Vissim, PTV Vistro, HCS.
