About the position

The Traffic Engineering Project Manager will oversee and deliver multiple traffic engineering projects for a diverse range of clients, including public, private, and institutional sectors. This role involves managing various aspects of traffic engineering design and requires strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with other infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and deliver multiple traffic engineering projects.
• Manage traffic engineering design aspects including traffic signals, signing and striping, and worksite traffic control.
• Conduct traffic impact studies and operational analysis.
• Perform safety studies and parking studies.
• Coordinate signal timing and coordination for projects.
• Collaborate with other roadway, transportation, or site infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional Civil Engineer (PE) and/or Traffic Engineer (TE) license/registration in California.
• Minimum of 2 years of management experience in engineering and design focusing on traffic engineering.
• Expert technical knowledge of traffic and transportation engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Proven experience in preparing technical reports, designs, specifications, and computations.
• Familiarity with local design procedures, regulatory compliance, and agency coordination.
• Understanding of schedule, budget, and scope of services management.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with software tools such as Synchro/SimTraffic, Agi32, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or VISSIM.
