About the position

The Traffic & Intelligent Transportation System Manager at AECOM is responsible for managing traffic-related projects and leading design efforts on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects. This role involves supervising junior staff, coordinating project development, and ensuring technical assignments are executed effectively. The position requires a strong background in engineering, particularly in traffic or ITS, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage traffic-related projects and lead design on ITS projects.
• Supervise junior staff for project development and task coordination.
• Perform management, leadership, and accountability responsibilities for a technical group or department.
• Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate technical assignments.
• Plan and develop engineering tasks for unique or controversial problems.
• Maintain liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
• Act independently on technical matters pertaining to the field.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus six (6) years of related experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Valid U.S. driver's license required.
• Proficient in MicroStation.

Nice-to-haves

• BS in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• 6+ years of experience in Traffic or ITS engineering.
• Experience with Plan Development and Plan Submittal Process, including USP submissions and ERMS document uploads.
