About the position
VHB's Worcester, MA team is seeking a Traffic Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2025. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic team across various disciplines, providing exposure to a wide range of projects in size and scope.
Responsibilities
- Evaluating crash history data and verifying the accuracy of such data.
- Use and create geospatial transportation data.
- Create text and spreadsheet documents and manipulate data.
- Effectively interact with VHB staff to advance projects in a timely manner.
- Prepare clearly organized traffic safety and engineering reports and technical memos to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Perform field data collection and other on-site project support activities.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing undergraduate or master's degree in civil engineering.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to independently perform multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with coworkers.
- Self-motivated with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with transportation planning and traffic engineering principles and resources.
- Team oriented with strong capability to work independently.
