About the position

The position is for a Transportation Planning and Execution Specialist at the New Cumberland Defense Logistics Center, PA. The specialist will monitor trends in strategic operations and provide advice on transportation performance within the global distribution network. This is a full-time term appointment not to exceed three years, with a salary range of $99,200 to $128,956 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a transportation planning and execution specialist for the movement of agency and DoD-owned materiel managed by the agency.
  • Provides leadership with data regarding measurable objectives, customer priorities, major workload, and other factors to maximize the value of the global transportation network enterprise and contingency operations.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and synthesizes contingency operations impacting air, land, and sea lines of movement, as well as strategic plans and mission priorities.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and reports trends and shifts in strategic operations and execution plans; identifies future strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats impacting current and future contingency operations.
  • Provides advice, assistance, and policy/procedure interpretation to agency personnel and customers regarding transportation performance and operations within the global distribution network enterprise.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Security Requirements: Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret Access.
  • Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination.
  • Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in a related field.
