Lake Erie Traffic Control, a Russell Standard company, is seeking a full-time seasonal Traffic Technician. The Traffic Technician will be responsible for the installation, removal, and maintenance of traffic control devices on various construction projects, ensuring compliance with local and State Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) specifications. This role requires constant awareness of both construction and traffic activities while installing devices to ensure safety and efficiency on the job site. The Traffic Technician will set up signs, channelizers, and trailer products for construction work zones, adhering to all safety rules and regulations while wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE). Effective communication with contractor employees, co-workers, and supervisors is essential, as is the ability to manage equipment for job sites and complete necessary paperwork. Providing the highest level of customer service to all customers is a key aspect of this position. Additional responsibilities include transporting equipment to construction sites, loading and unloading trucks and trailers at various locations, and performing all other duties as assigned. The work environment is dynamic, with exposure to various weather conditions, moving traffic, and uneven ground when placing equipment on the roadway. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud, and the role requires regular standing, walking, and lifting of equipment, often exceeding 50 pounds.
