About the position

The Trailer Mechanic Level A is responsible for performing repairs and preventive maintenance on trailers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and maintaining equipment, as well as conducting safety inspections and preparing necessary documentation. The position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on trailers.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose equipment issues.
• Conduct safety inspections and prepare required safety documents.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with regulations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of one year of experience or completion of trade school.
• Ability to use hand tools and test equipment.
• Possession of own tools.
• Knowledge of general repairs and preventive maintenance criteria.
• Ability to keep up with changing technology and updates.
• Mechanical ability and interest in electronics and precision equipment.
• Strength and stamina to work with heavy equipment and in awkward positions.
• Valid CDL and acceptable MVR if driving on public roads.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills.
• Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work any shift, including nights and weekends.
