About the position

The position is for an experienced tanker trailer mechanic responsible for performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance on trailers to ensure compliance with DOT safety and compliance requirements. The role requires a positive attitude, punctuality, and a willingness to learn, while working collaboratively with a team of professionals.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance for trailers in compliance with all DOT requirements.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on trailers.
• Perform welding and fabrication on trailers.
• Keep all assigned trailer maintenance files current, including all DOT compliance-related documentation for mechanical work performed on trailers.
• Perform or coordinate emergency maintenance and breakdown repairs on trailers.
• Maintain the shop area and order parts, materials, oils, lubricants, and shop supplies.
• Interact with customers and vendors while maintaining a customer service focus.
• Perform all other duties as assigned and required within the role.

Requirements

• Experience as a mechanic, specifically with tanker trailers.
• Knowledge of DOT safety and compliance requirements.
• Ability to perform welding and fabrication work.
• Strong attention to detail in maintaining compliance documentation.
• Good customer service skills.
