About the position

The Trainee, Business Analyst position at Sony Pictures Entertainment is designed for students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in business analysis within the Transactional Sales team. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to engage in data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and project management activities, contributing to the development of knowledge management systems and documentation processes. The position runs from January through May 30th, 2025, and requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, in Culver City, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Support the collection, processing, and analysis of data related to SKUs and assets.
  • Collaborate with teams to gather documentation requirements and maintain user-focused knowledge base materials.
  • Identify and address documentation gaps to enhance transparency and efficiency.
  • Support project management activities related to knowledge base development, including task tracking and timeline management.
  • Develop clear visual representations of complex topics using PowerPoint presentations, diagrams, and charts.
  • Curate and update business analysis artifacts to standardize processes and best practices.
  • Assist in documenting the 'As-Is' state of applications used within the Transactional Sales team.
  • Build and update application-specific knowledge base websites for easy access to documentation.
  • Create clear and concise visual representations of system integration diagrams and process flow diagrams.
  • Develop comprehensive step-by-step guides for various business applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document user stories for development teams.
  • Design and write test cases for automated testing in Playwright.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in documenting processes, workflows, and system functionality clearly and efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to create clear and effective visual presentations.
  • Familiarity with website management tools and content management systems.
  • Ability to analyze application workflows and translate them into user-friendly documentation.
  • Excellent written communication skills for creating guides and technical documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation efforts.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or Technical Writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in documenting business processes or creating how-to guides.
  • Exposure to knowledge management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of sales planning, supply chain, or ERP systems.
  • Previous internship or project experience related to business analysis or documentation.
  • Proficiency with visualization tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, or Lucidchart.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools for enhancing documentation efficiency.
