About the position

The Multi Craft Maintenance Technician Trainee is responsible for performing electro-electronic and mechanical maintenance to ensure maximum availability and safe operation of equipment. This role involves assisting experienced technicians, preparing maintenance reports, troubleshooting automation systems, and maintaining machinery to support production and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provides electro electronic maintenance and mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
  • Prepares maintenance reports by completing the root-cause analysis methodology and Preventive Maintenance orders
  • Assists General and Master multi-craft techs in various tasks, including robotic programming and maintenance of equipment
  • Reads and comprehends PLC logic
  • Assists with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of automation equipment and systems
  • Ensures availability of machinery and equipment by assisting with reactive, preventive, and proactive maintenance
  • Determines material, equipment, and labor requirements for future work
  • Locates sources of problems by observing operations and using measuring and testing instruments
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions and needs
  • Safely operates various tools and machinery under supervision
  • Analyzes and interprets equipment manuals, blueprints, and diagrams to determine work procedures
  • Operates hoisting and lifting devices during installation and repair of machinery
  • Utilizes computer to perform part searches and record job times.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED and 2 years' experience in an industrial environment specializing in welding or robotic applications, or an associate degree in relevant fields
  • Demonstrated safety training in an industrial environment
  • Proven mathematical, mechanical, electrical, and technical aptitude
  • Experience in inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and automation breakdowns
  • Willingness to work all shifts, call-ins, holidays, and overtime
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical blueprints and diagrams
  • Basic computer skills, including utilizing a CMMS System
  • Ability to follow written plans and procedures
  • Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds and work from heights
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background screening and drug screen.

Nice-to-haves

  • Some mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance experience
  • OSHA 10- or 30-hour certification
  • Experience working with IoT (Internet of Things) and SCADA systems
  • Proven ability to safely operate forklifts, mobile and overhead cranes, and man-lifts.
