The Trainee NEW CDL Class B Driver position at US Foods involves safely delivering food products to customers while ensuring timely service and maintaining a strong safety culture. This role is ideal for new CDL drivers, as US Foods provides training and support to help them succeed in their driving careers. The position emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled delivery times.
- Carefully unload products from the trailer using a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place them in designated customer storage areas.
- Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures.
- Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable.
- Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance the client experience.
- Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
- Less than six months commercial driving experience or less than three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required.
- Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations.
- Must be able to read and communicate in the English language.
