Responsibilities

• Work under the direct supervision of the Laborer Foreman.
• Learn to read roadway plans and drawings.
• Use and care for hand and power tools.
• Assist in the installation of Erosion and Sediment Control measures.
• Participate in the Maintenance and Protection of Traffic tasks.
• Receive and unload concrete pipe.
• Engage in asphalt patching and compacting tasks.
• Perform labor tasks for road grading.
• Complete other related duties as directed by the Foreman.

Requirements

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Demonstrate a reasonable amount of intelligence to handle technical elements of the job.
• Show evidence of aptitude and interest in the craft.
• Possess a valid license (e.g., equipment operator, truck driver, or highway).
• Not previously completed a training program leading toward journeyperson status in any classification.
