About the position

AECOM is seeking a Traffic Monitoring Trainer/QAQC in Pompano, Florida at the Florida's Turnpike Enterprise Traffic Management Center (TMC). This position is a front-line leadership role responsible for providing guidance and direction to control room operations personnel. The Trainer will develop relevant and meaningful training curriculums for both new personnel and existing staff, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively. Monthly evaluations will be administered to assess the level of staff knowledge, with results reviewed to provide feedback and coaching to personnel regarding their performance. In addition to training development, the Trainer will assist in identifying specific areas in need of improvement for the entire staff and individual personnel. This includes facilitating classroom and other training activities to meet operational needs, procedural changes, or other circumstances. The Trainer will be responsible for creating and maintaining training materials and operational job aids, as well as providing periodic skills assessments and feedback to personnel to coincide with training and QAQC results. Documentation of reviews, including assessment results and performance discussions, will be maintained to ensure awareness of expectations and deliverables. The role also involves performing real-time audits and reporting on established client performance metrics, maintaining assessment and audit results in an assigned database, and providing audit results to personnel with feedback to drive improvement in performance results. The Trainer must possess exceptional communication skills, the ability to adapt communication styles based on the situation, and the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. A strong work ethic, individual integrity, and a positive attitude towards work and assignments are essential for success in this role. The Trainer will also need to identify current industry trends or TMC best practices and analyze their suitability for implementation within Control Room operations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School diploma and 2 or more years of experience as a Traffic Monitoring Operator or related experience.
  • Previous training or leadership experience required.
  • Must pass a state and federal criminal history/security background check.
  • Must successfully complete Florida Department of Transportation fingerprint-based screening.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple inputs and remain stationary for prolonged periods.
  • Constantly operate a computer and other monitoring equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates degree or greater in organizational development or related discipline.
  • 1+ years working in a training or leadership capacity.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills for various formats.
  • Ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure.
  • Experience in traffic management or emergency services.
