Our business is growing fast and we are currently seeking a talented Training Coordinator for Data Center Site Operations. The Training Coordinator will be responsible for managing the training curriculum for all divisions and departments within the Site Operations organization. This role involves administering training curriculum assignments, participation, and scheduling, as well as developing training standards and qualification requirements for various roles in the department. The Training Coordinator will also administer Ascent's Learning Management System (LMS) and develop various defined reports to executive leadership for training compliance. Additionally, the coordinator will manage onsite training activity scheduling and participation at remote site operations locations, working closely with department heads, divisional leads, and other subject matter experts to design and develop training programs, materials, and resources based on identified needs. The position requires assessing training effectiveness and adjusting programs as needed to enhance employee performance and organizational success. The Training Coordinator will also be responsible for managing the budget allocated for training initiatives, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and utilizing technology for e-learning and virtual training solutions. Staying informed about industry trends and best practices in training and development is crucial, as is maintaining accurate records of training activities, attendance, and results. The role also involves effectively communicating with employees, management, and other stakeholders to promote the value of training initiatives and providing leadership and guidance to department staff, fostering a positive learning culture within the organization. This position will require approximately 15% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the training curriculum for all divisions/departments within the Site Operations org.
  • Administer training curriculum assignment, participation, and scheduling.
  • Develop training standards and qualification requirements for various roles in the department.
  • Administration of Ascent's Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Develop various defined reports to executive leadership for training compliance.
  • Manage onsite training activity scheduling and participation at remote site operations locations.
  • Design and develop training programs, materials, and resources based on identified needs in conjunction with department heads and subject matter experts.
  • Develop training specific templates for courses, reports, and related material.
  • Identify training needs by evaluating employee performance and organizational goals.
  • Assess training effectiveness and adjust as needed to enhance employee performance and organizational success.
  • Coordinate and conduct general training sessions, ensuring effective delivery of content to employees.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, performance metrics, and other evaluation methods.
  • Modify training programs as necessary to meet evolving organizational needs and industry trends.
  • Manage the budget allocated for training initiatives, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Utilize technology for e-learning, virtual training, and other innovative training solutions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in training and development.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and results.
  • Effectively communicate with employees, management, and other stakeholders to promote the value of training initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to department staff, fostering a positive learning culture within the organization.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies in data center management and incorporate them into training programs.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Data Center operations or Military (ex: Navy Nuke, Electrician / Machinist Mate) environment or other relevant experience.
  • BS or Technical Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Field or another related field preferred.
  • Experience in data center operations and management, with a focus on training and development.
  • Understanding of data center infrastructure and critical equipment preferred.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing training programs for data center staff, covering areas such as security, maintenance, troubleshooting, change control, and safety.
  • Relevant certifications in data center management, such as CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional) or DCOM (Data Center Operations Manager) preferred or willingness to complete training open hire.
  • Strong leadership abilities to guide and motivate a team of data center professionals, as well as effectively communicate with management.
  • Clear and concise communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including non-technical staff.
  • The ability to analyze and resolve issues related to data center operations, as well as adapt training strategies to address emerging challenges.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements for data center operations, such as ISO 27001 or Uptime Institute's Tier Standards.
  • Skills in project management to coordinate training initiatives efficiently within the context of broader data center operations.
  • Ability to collaborate with IT teams, Engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive and effective training programs.
  • Candidate must be technically proficient in planning, scheduling, and exhibit excellent organizational skills.
  • Candidate must possess strong communication skills, the ability to lead coordination meetings, and actively facilitate progress to achieve scheduled goals.
  • Qualified candidate will be able to work cooperatively with internal administration groups.
  • Proficiency within the Microsoft 365 suite.
