About the position

The Training Coordinator at Pinto Valley Mine plays a crucial role in Talent Development by creating impactful learning experiences throughout the employee lifecycle. This position focuses on supporting the Mine Operations team, particularly in ore production, by coordinating training logistics and delivering effective training sessions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the mining industry, particularly in operating heavy-duty mobile equipment, and will be skilled in training others on safe work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Exemplify the Capstone Copper Values and comply with MSHA safety guidelines and Pinto Valley Mine policies.
  • Build trusting relationships with stakeholders through empathy, active listening, and open communication.
  • Deliver meaningful learning experiences by facilitating classroom and field training safely and respectfully.
  • Utilize adult learning theory to connect learning experiences with on-the-job application to support behavior change post-training.
  • Coordinate training activities, including schedules, resources, and materials for high-quality training experiences.
  • Administer training records and recommend improvements to the records management system.
  • Efficiently manage vendor contracts and payment processes.
  • Administer department inventory proactively.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance talent development skills.
  • Understand mining industry standards and best practices related to talent development.
  • Advise on technical procedures to support site-wide consistency and compliance with company policies and MSHA guidelines.
  • Support Specialists in designing curricula and assessments using evidence-based instructional design models.
  • Conduct needs analysis to identify performance problems and recommend solutions.
  • Measure the impact of training on business outcomes and support related reporting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of experience in mine mobile equipment operations and maintenance required.
  • 2 years of experience training others required.
  • Associate's degree in any field of study preferred.
  • 2 years of experience coordinating the work of others preferred.
