About the position

The Training Coordinator at Capstone Mining plays a crucial role in Talent Development at Pinto Valley Mine, focusing on creating impactful learning experiences throughout the employee lifecycle. This position specifically supports the Mine Operations team, coordinating training logistics and delivering educational experiences to enhance safety and efficiency in mining operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the mining industry, particularly in operating heavy-duty mobile equipment, and will be responsible for training others on safe work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Exemplify the Capstone Copper Values and comply with MSHA safety guidelines and Pinto Valley Mine policies.
  • Build trusting relationships with stakeholders through empathy, active listening, and open communication.
  • Deliver meaningful learning experiences by facilitating classroom and field training safely and effectively.
  • Utilize adult learning theory to connect learning experiences with on-the-job application for behavior change.
  • Coordinate training activities, including schedules, resources, and materials for high-quality training.
  • Administer training records and recommend improvements to the records management system.
  • Manage vendor contracts and payment processes efficiently.
  • Oversee department inventory proactively.
  • Engage in professional development to enhance talent development skills and knowledge.
  • Advise on technical procedures to ensure site-wide consistency and compliance with standards.
  • Support the design and development of curricula and assessments using evidence-based instructional design models.
  • Conduct needs analysis to identify performance problems and recommend solutions.
  • Measure the impact of training on business outcomes and support related reporting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of experience in mine mobile equipment operations and maintenance required.
  • 2 years of experience training others required.
  • Associate's degree in any field of study preferred.
  • 2 years of experience coordinating the work of others preferred.
