About the position

The Training Coordinator facilitates training activities for customized training and the Michigan New Jobs Training Project. This role is part of the Training Solutions team and aims to provide high-quality training activities to support businesses across various industries in West Michigan. The position involves direct support to the Customized Training Manager and requires strong customer relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as direct support to the Customized Training Manager with customer accounts, services, and programs to increase sales revenue from customized business training.
  • Develop strong internal and external customer relationships.
  • Schedule classes using systems for customized training and Michigan New Job Training Program classes.
  • Process reservations using 25Live Pro.
  • Coordinate and manage the registration process for companies with the Michigan New Jobs Training Program to maintain program documentation for reporting.
  • Maintain the student records for customized training and MNJTP.
  • Actively participate in putting together the annual MNJTP report for the State of Michigan.
  • Train support professionals on preparing training documentation and registering students with PeopleSoft.
  • Coordinate and manage the grade report process with instructors.
  • Create invoices for GRCC training for customized training, MNJTP, and One Workforce.
  • Maintain customized apprentice files and records.
  • Prepare budgets for equipment, supplies, and materials for custom apprenticeships.
  • Participate in college-wide PeopleSoft system meetings regarding records, enrollment, and database testing.
  • Ensure regular attendance during normal scheduled hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 3 years of work experience in higher education or workforce training highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products and data systems.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service and effective communication with a diverse population.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously with program and college staff, students, and community.
  • Strong reasoning skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven initiative and ability to follow through on multiple projects in a timely manner.
