About the position

The Training General Manager (GM) at Freebirds is responsible for fostering a fun and energetic work environment while providing ongoing operational feedback and training to new restaurant managers. This role focuses on developing high-performing teams, implementing comprehensive training programs, and ensuring consistent communication across departments to uphold the Freebirds brand standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, manage, and train new restaurant managers.
  • Manage, coordinate, and facilitate onboarding processes.
  • Implement and facilitate a comprehensive training program for management employees.
  • Support methods for evaluating and measuring training effectiveness.
  • Communicate effectively with the training, operations, and HR leadership teams to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Provide feedback and partner with the training department to improve processes continuously.
  • Build and maintain a strong team culture that attracts high performers.
  • Deliver strong performance in objective measures such as Labor, COGS, Loyalty Engagement, Attachment Rate, and Guest Feedback.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of restaurant management experience from a high-volume restaurant concept.
  • 2+ years of experience training and developing GMs, AGMs, and other leadership team members.
  • Effective listening, communication, and evaluation skills for manager trainees.
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Food Safety Manager Certification.
  • Valid state driver's license and insurance.
  • Ability to stand and be active for extended periods, at least 8 hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
