About the position

The Training Instructor for Apprentice Electrical/Electronic at the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (NFPC) is responsible for developing, maintaining, and facilitating training programs for mechanics, support personnel, and apprentices. This role involves ensuring compliance with various regulations and standards while executing curriculum design and tracking student progress in both classroom and on-the-job training settings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate training programs for mechanics, support personnel, and apprentices.
  • Ensure training programs comply with Bureau policies, Department of Labor regulations, and standards set by certifying agencies.
  • Execute curriculum design and maintain record-keeping systems for tracking student progress.
  • Communicate and implement training plans as directed by supervisors.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of identifying, testing, repairing, and replacing electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, and integrated circuits.
  • Working knowledge of electrical safety and relevant OSHE Control Manuals.
  • Experience in teaching or training for at least 3 years.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with curriculum design and development.
  • Familiarity with federal employment regulations and security clearance processes.
