About the position

The Training Instructor for Vocational Training in Nail Technology at the Department of Justice is responsible for delivering educational programs to prepare individuals for successful reentry into society. This role involves developing and implementing vocational training curricula, specifically in the field of Nail Technician, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The instructor will also coordinate apprenticeship programs and maintain the security of the correctional institution.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a training instructor in a vocational training program for Nail Technician.
  • Develop and implement curriculum for vocational and apprenticeship courses.
  • Maintain a record-keeping system to track student progress.
  • Ensure compliance with Bureau policies and Department of Labor regulations.
  • Coordinate various occupational training programs and classes.
  • Maintain security of the institution as a primary responsibility.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Master's degree or equivalent graduate education in education or a related field for GL-09.
  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree for GS-11.
  • Experience in teaching or instructing in adult education programs or related fields.
  • Experience in developing curriculum and individualized learning plans.
  • Current certification or license as an advanced to expert level nail technician from recognized agencies.
