About the position

The Training Representative (Learning and Development Specialist) at Duke Health's Patient Revenue Management Organization (PRMO) plays a crucial role in facilitating live, virtual soft skills training for new hires. This position focuses on enhancing the onboarding experience through effective instructional design and delivery of training programs, ensuring that team members are well-equipped to support the revenue cycle operations of Duke Health. The role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders to develop custom learning content and maintain accurate learning records, all while embracing innovative educational methods and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate live, virtual soft skills courses as the primary lead facilitator for new hire onboarding training.
  • Complete the departmental Train-the-Trainer process for new or revamped soft skills courses.
  • Develop instructional designs and supporting materials based on organizational needs.
  • Consult with internal stakeholders to create custom learning content, both web-based and blended learning.
  • Ensure the accuracy of team member learning records for the Duke Health Revenue Cycle.
  • Support learning initiatives through dynamic distribution models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • One year of experience in academic, instructional, or training techniques.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management System tools (Saba) and virtual learning technologies (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with blended learning models and online learning technologies.
  • Ability to navigate and troubleshoot A/V systems.
