Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly manner.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend products that meet those needs.
• Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions, sales, and product information to effectively sell products.
• Assist in restocking shelves and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the store.
• Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
• Utilize POS systems for processing transactions and managing inventory levels.
• Perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate pricing and change for customers.

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail sales or customer service, preferably in a grocery store environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Proficiency in cash handling and operating cash registers or POS systems.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Supervisory skills are a plus, with the ability to lead by example and motivate team members.
