Training Specialist II

About the position

The Training Specialist II at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is responsible for identifying training needs, developing training materials, and facilitating training sessions. This role involves providing guidance and leadership to new training specialists, managing trainees, and ensuring effective communication with area management regarding trainee performance. The position requires a strong focus on project management and the ability to deliver training that meets customer specifications and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Identify training needs and develop training materials.
• Facilitate technical and non-technical training to employees and external customers.
• Manage trainees and communicate effectively with area management on trainee performance.
• Develop performance assessments and testing materials.
• Analyze and develop training solutions using blended learning techniques.
• Gather data from quality audits and team development surveys for training deliveries.
• Track and monitor team interactions, providing feedback to trainees and their management.
• Prepare reports and presentation materials as requested.
• Evaluate various training trends, techniques, and programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (4 years job-related experience or Associate's and 2 years job-related experience).
• 3 years of job-related work experience, including 2 years of training experience and 1 year of insurance-related work experience.
• Strong project management skills and ability to learn corporate systems.
• Familiarity with various training technologies (e.g., audio/visual, virtual, webinars).
• Strong organizational, customer service, communication, and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Journalism, English, or Public Speaking.
• DDI Master Trainer, Langevin, or ASTD certification.
