About the position

The Training Specialist position is located in the Health Resources and Services Administration, specifically within the Office of Operations, Office of Human Resources, Division of Workforce Development. This role focuses on planning, developing, presenting, and evaluating adult training and professional development programs to enhance workforce capabilities. The incumbent will be responsible for designing and delivering both in-person and virtual training sessions, utilizing adult learning principles to meet organizational training needs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver instructor-led, in-person training and virtual classroom training using computer-based training and interactive courseware solutions.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate training and development programs based on adult learning principles.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of instructional materials and compile data for various training programs, presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate focus groups and interviews to design individual and organizational interventions.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • One full year of specialized experience comparable to at least the GS-9 level in the federal service.
  • Experience in developing and implementing competency-based adult training programs.
  • Knowledge of learning technology and data gathering and analysis.
  • Ability to promote individual and organizational development through training program administration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with e-learning technologies and instructional design.
