The Training Specialist position at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is located at the Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport (BWI). In this role, you will serve as a vital liaison concerning training matters between the Federal Security Director and TSA Headquarters, including the Office of Workforce Performance and Training and the Aviation Programs Office. This position is crucial for ensuring that TSA personnel are well-trained and equipped to safeguard the American way of life by securing transportation infrastructure across the country. As a Training Specialist, you will coordinate airport-wide training programs and professional development services. Your duties will encompass scheduling, evaluating, and facilitating training sessions, including screener recertification and performance improvement activities. You will also provide guidance to the Federal Security Director's staff regarding training and career development needs, maintain training databases, and document training activities in a web-based learning management system. Additionally, you will assist in managing instructors and coordinating with contractors who conduct training, acting as a TSA Approved Instructor (TAI) or Test Administrator when necessary.
