About The Position

The Training Support Specialist will support the Commander, Navy Installation Command (CNIC) Shore Operations Training Delivery Branch by providing online Computer Based Training (CBT), Mobile Training Teams (MTTs), and formal course delivery to security and emergency management personnel across 11 regions and 70 installations worldwide. This role is crucial for delivering operations-focused training and ensuring effective integration of training resources and requirements.

Requirements

  • Master's degree required.
  • Must possess an active Secret clearance or higher.
  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) Certification, Emergency Management Instructor or Curriculum Developer, HSEEP Instructor required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in an operations center, command center, or communications center.
  • Minimum of 10 years of military service required.
  • Expert level knowledge of DoD emergency management, National Incident Management System, National Response Framework, Multi Agency Coordination System, Incident Command System, and Defense Support for Civil Authorities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to brief senior staff including Flag Officers.
  • Valid United States Passport required.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of an IAEM Certification as Emergency Manager and a Navy Master Training Specialist is highly desired.
  • FEMA Emergency Management experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of adult learning principles and techniques for designing training programs is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the CNIC N36T SOTG, a deployable mobile training team (MTT).
  • Provide classroom instruction via Mobile Training Team (MTT) and Virtual Training Team (VTT) using Microsoft Teams or other authorized programs.
  • Deliver various emergency management courses and tailored training as necessary.
  • Develop and provide decision-level briefings to Senior Leadership.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for emergency management and related training documentation.
  • Plan, facilitate, observe, and evaluate CNIC Region and Installation Integrated Training Exercises and Drills.
  • Attend meetings and conferences to improve CNIC readiness.
  • Identify inconsistencies and propose fixes between doctrine and training based on Lessons Learned.
  • Manage SOTG pages including Quarterly Operational Training and Exercise Summary (QOTES) data tracking.
  • Provide weekly training and readiness updates pertinent to N3 and CNIC.
  • Recommend and assist in implementing actions for effective integration of training resources and requirements.
  • Review current doctrine and mission essential tasks to determine training requirements.
