About the position

The Training Team Lead at the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS) is responsible for overseeing employee wellness, training, and development initiatives. This role involves creating and implementing agency-wide training programs aimed at enhancing employee performance and retention, as well as developing wellness initiatives to promote a healthy work environment. The position requires collaboration with various departments to assess training needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive training programs that address identified needs.
  • Research, review, and select training materials from various resources and vendors.
  • Design and facilitate effective training sessions to educate and improve employee productivity.
  • Measure the success of training programs through feedback surveys and performance tracking.
  • Manage the training and wellness budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends in training and employee development.
  • Regularly update training materials and methods to keep them current.
  • Ensure all employees complete mandatory training on compliance and safety.
  • Evaluate agency's training requirements through skills gap analyses and performance reviews.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive wellness programs.
  • Design and facilitate engaging wellness workshops and seminars.
  • Collaborate with HR to promote wellness initiatives and organize events.
  • Provide resources for employees to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
  • Stay updated on wellness trends and best practices.
  • Manage Employee Wellness and Training staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in training and development or wellness programs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
  • Proven ability to design and implement effective wellness programs.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and measure program effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong leadership skills.
