About the position
The Tax Manager position at CohnReznick is a key role within the Transaction Advisory Services practice, focusing on tax due diligence and transaction structuring for private equity and strategic buyers/sellers. This hybrid role involves collaboration with the TAS Tax practice leader and managing engagements across various industries, ensuring effective tax planning and implementation post-transaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence engagements for private equity and strategic corporate buyers.
- Identify potential income and non-income tax exposures in tax due diligence engagements.
- Analyze proposed acquisition, sale, and restructuring transactions.
- Perform quantitative analyses to model and assess the tax consequences of specific transactions.
- Identify value-adding post-transaction planning opportunities and projects.
- Manage and mentor other TAS Tax staff members.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 5+ years of tax experience in tax preparation and/or review, and/or prior TAS Tax experience.
- CPA, MST, JD, LLM a plus.
- Strong technical knowledge of C corporation, Subchapter S Corporation, and partnership taxation issues.
- Experience with non-income taxes, including sales taxes, employment taxes, property taxes, and escheat/unclaimed property.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a team-oriented environment.
- Action-oriented, decisive approach to work required, with the willingness to take a hands-on role to ensure the deliverables are met on time with high quality.
