About the position

The Transactional Actuarial Analyst at AIG plays a crucial role in the actuarial function, focusing on quantifying risk, pricing insurance, and reserving losses for the Retail Excess Casualty business. This position involves collaboration with various internal teams and requires strong analytical skills to assist in pricing reviews and manage the deal pipeline effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist on individual account pricing reviews for the Retail Excess Casualty business.
• Communicate actuarial pricing to underwriters, clients, and brokers.
• Manage the deal pipeline with underwriters while meeting tight deadlines.
• Participate in peer reviews and impact analyses of default parameters within pricing tools.
• Engage in ad hoc projects related to group initiatives and communicate results to diverse audiences.
• Collaborate closely with internal business partners to ensure successful underwriting and pricing strategies.

Requirements

• 4+ CAS Exams
• 2+ years of relevant actuarial experience in Casualty/Specialty
• Ability to work independently and as a team player
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
• Strong influencing skills to work with cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication skills for clarity across the organization
• Programming skills in VBA, SQL, Python, R, etc.

Nice-to-haves

• Pricing experience in automobile liability, general liability, umbrella and excess lines, or other commercial products.
