About the position

The Transactions Tax Senior Manager at Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP is a pivotal role within the National Specialty Tax Practice, focusing on Merger and Acquisitions Tax Transactions. This position involves pre-transaction readiness, tax due diligence, transaction tax structuring, and post-transaction integration services. The role is designed for a professional who is eager to drive growth, mentor staff, and contribute significantly to the firm's success while working closely with leadership and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients on tax matters associated with integration, divestment, joint ventures, public equity offerings, and legal entity realignment.
  • Deliver appropriate tax consulting and compliance services to companies involved in large mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other restructuring transactions.
  • Direct complex tax research, formulate tax-planning strategies, and perform tax department assessments.
  • Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with the goal of acquiring new clients, projects, and revenue.
  • Actively participate in request for proposals to pursue additional clients/services for the firm.
  • Operate within and effectively leverage Baker Tilly's matrixed structure of industry, service, and geography to develop and execute growth strategies and work in close coordination with regional and national leaders.
  • Represent Baker Tilly and develop relationships nationally, participate in relevant industry events, and undertake speaking engagements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in tax consulting, particularly in mergers and acquisitions.
  • Proven experience in tax technology system implementation service line.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Taxation or related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a tax advisory firm.
