About the position

The Transformation Performance, Director plays a crucial role in the Transformation Group at Baystate Health, focusing on ensuring the long-term sustainability of transformation outcomes and advancing the organization's strategic objectives. This position involves close collaboration with various executive leaders to develop and implement the Transformation Performance Excellence Framework, which includes creating robust action plans and monitoring tools to integrate changes into business operations effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner to support and direct transformational work as identified by the Chief Transformation Officer and Executive Sponsors.
  • Develop and lead the overall transformation strategy, ensuring alignment with Baystate Health's strategic objectives.
  • Drive and manage the execution of transformation projects, including defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, measurements, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to identify process improvements, drive operational efficiencies, and enhance patient/employee experience.
  • Monitor and track program progress, identify risks and issues, and implement appropriate countermeasures and strategies.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams, ensuring the successful delivery of key milestones and outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and change management, promoting the adoption of new processes, tools, and technologies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
  • Lead and manage large-scale business improvement efforts that add value to Baystate Health.
  • Utilize standard reports and dashboards to review performance data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate identifying and monitoring cascading metrics from system-level outcomes down to unit-level process indicators.
  • Utilize statistical analysis and data visualization to conclude the efficacy of improvement projects.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and report to appropriate committees, department heads, etc., for action planning.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related clinical field required.
  • Acute care clinical background is required.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience successfully leading and delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and meeting key deliverables, preferably in large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of change management principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and engage stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
